2OnionsCut one onion in half. Chop the other onion.

6Bay Leaves

2TablespoonsOlive Oil

Instructions

  1. Place favas in pan and fill with cold water. Let it sit for a couple days. Make sure they are fully covered with water.
  2. After favas have sit for a couple days, add a tablespoon of salt and the onion halves. Cook the favas for about an hour until they are tender.
  3. In a separate pan, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and add the bacon, chourico, onions, and garlic and sautee for a few minutes.
  4. When the favas are done cooking and are nice and tender, drain them. Then mix them into the sauteed bacon, chourico, onions, and garlic.
  5. Add one can of beer, one cup of white wine, one can of tomato sauce and bay leaves. Cook for about 30 minutes mixing occasionally.
