Ingredients

4-6CupsFruitTropical and summer fruits like pineapples, bananas, strawberries and grapes work well.

Instructions

  1. Wash mint leaves removing any bruised leaves or stems.
  2. In a medium saucepan, add sugar, water, and mint leaves and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Lower the heat and continue to simmer for 15 minutes. Occasionally stir to make sure sugar crystals forming along the sides are incorporated.
  4. Add tequila and continue to simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Turn off heat and add lime juice. Let syrup cool to room temperature.
  6. Strain out the mint and refrigerate the syrup until ready to pour into your fruit salad.
